Solar shading · External venetian blinds
Control daylight rather than darken rooms.
External venetian blinds regulate light, privacy and solar gain through adjustable slats. PLANIGRAPH plans the installation type, slat profile, guides and automation to suit your façade.
The difference
Daylight remains available.
While a roller shutter mainly opens or closes, an external venetian blind changes the angle of incoming light. This is particularly useful for living spaces, offices and large glazed areas.
Slat position, the sun’s position, viewing direction and the desired level of glare protection are all considered together.

Automation
Installation options
Four façade integration options.
The design depends on the building work – a new build, window replacement or retrofit – and the façade construction.

Flexible installation in front of the window
Front-mounted
For new builds, modernisation and many retrofit projects.

Windows + solar shading
Top-mounted
Planned together with the window and integrated into the façade.

Architecture
Façade
For mullion-and-transom façades, commercial and institutional building projects and deliberately visible façade solutions.

Discreetly integrated
Recess
For existing or planned recesses with straightforward technical integration.

Slats
The shape changes the light and the overall effect.
External venetian blinds are available with different slat profiles. Not every slat is equally suited to every application. Key considerations include light control, closing performance, wind stability, appearance and unit size.
Flat & design slats
a clean façade appearance
Slats with clean, straight lines for a calm, uncluttered façade appearance.
Z-shaped slats
Z-shaped slat
Distinctive profiling with good closing performance and precise light control.
Other slat shapes
depending on requirements
Depending on the system, additional slat profiles are available for different designs and lighting effects.
Automation safeguards comfort
Control sunlight. Take wind into account.
External venetian blinds are more sensitive to wind than closed roller shutters. Motorisation and suitable sensors are therefore part of the system planning.
Automatic sun control for shading as needed
Wind sensor to move the blinds into the protective position
Radio control, app or building automation
Solar power with suitable systems and installation conditions
