Solar shading · Special shapes · SCHANZ

Rectangular windows are straightforward. For everything else, there is SCHANZ.

Triangular, trapezoidal, gable-shaped, arched or following a continuous roof slope: Studio Star shades window shapes that push conventional roller shutters to their design limits.

Why specialist technology?

Standard roller shutters need parallel guides.

With sloping and asymmetrical windows, slat lengths and guide paths vary. The shutter curtain therefore needs a mechanism that actively guides it along the window’s geometry.

SCHANZ Studio Star operates from bottom to top for many shapes. The shape, angle, shutter box position and drive are specified for each project.

The roller shutter moves as the geometry requires.

For many non-standard shapes, the box is positioned at the bottom and the shutter curtain moves upwards. A counter-tension mechanism keeps the curtain moving in a controlled manner within the guides.

When even the box follows the roofline.

For windows that slope across their full width, SCHANZ offers the special Studio Star SO design. The box runs parallel to the roofline rather than horizontally. According to the manufacturer, this design is intended for inclinations from 10° to 45°.

SCHANZ Select profile

Solid profile or Select

Darken the room or retain daylight?

The solid profile is designed for greater room darkening. The perforated Select profile allows diffused light into the room when the shutter is closed. Each option may be suitable for different uses.

01

Solid profile

For rooms where closing the shutters and darkening the room are the main priorities.

02

Select Profil

For living and working spaces where heat protection needs to be combined with daylight.

Special shapes require a site survey and technical assessment.

We assess the window shape, angles, installation space, box position, controls and façade connections. Only then do we determine which solution is suitable for the specific building.

Special shape

A photo or plan is enough for an initial assessment.

Send us details of the window shape, dimensions (if available) and a photo of the installation location. We will assess whether SCHANZ Studio Star or another solar shading solution is more suitable.
