Top-mounted roller shutter
Top-mounted roller shutters are combined with the window to form a single unit and installed together in the opening. This makes them particularly suitable for new builds and renovations involving window replacement.

Appearance & system design
The window and roller shutter are designed as a single unit, both visually and technically.
The visible design is a key factor in choosing the product. The box, guide rails, shutter curtain and colour are therefore coordinated in terms of both technical requirements and appearance.
Visual principle
The construction type and shutter curtain can be distinguished from one another at first glance.
Assessment
Plan the window and roller shutter together from the outset.
The roller shutter box sits on top of the window unit. This means that the window dimensions, lintel, insulation, maintenance access and roller shutter must all be coordinated before ordering.
PLANIGRAPH coordinates windows and solar shading as a complete system. This is particularly important where energy efficiency requirements apply, access for maintenance from inside is desired, or a clean, understated façade is preferred.

Planning considerations
Four factors determine the specification.
01
Connection to the building structure
The window, box, insulation and internal finishes must work together.
02
Maintenance access
Define access to the mechanism for maintenance and repairs.
03
Roller shutter profile
Choose the material, colour and function to suit the project.
04
Control
Plan for wiring, radio control, sensors or a smart home interface early on.
PLANIGRAPH planning
Top-mounted systems work best as part of an overall plan.
Considering windows and solar shading separately creates unnecessary interfaces. PLANIGRAPH coordinates dimensions, connections and controls together.
Coordinate window orders and solar shading together
Take the shutter box height and clear opening into account
Define internal and external connections before installation
Ensure the technical components remain accessible later on
Service & retrofitting
Existing system? That’s what our service is for.
Product advice and service remain separate – but directly linked.

Roller shutter repairs
Motor, shutter curtain, guide rails and operation of existing systems.

Controls & automation
Check or retrofit radio controls, handheld transmitters, sensors and drives.

Retrofitting sun protection
Add suitable solar shading technology to existing buildings.
